Juliette's first Christmas

We managed to have a baby and set up our house just in the nick of time for Christmas. The day we came home from the hospital was our first night in our new home. The water was the last thing that needed to be done and it was hooked up the next day.

On Juliette's first Christmas she was 1 week old. We gave her a crystal buggy tree ornament with baby's first Christmas 2007. She spent most of the day sleeping but she did wake up for a family picture.

Grandpa Ashby and Grandma Joan came up to Merritt to join us for a Christmas celebration.

Auntie Mel, Uncle Dave, cousins Justin and Dawson also came up to join us for the Holidays. Justin, Dawson and the guys went out in the bush to get our Christmas tree. Mel helped me give Juliette her first bath at home.

Oma and Grandpa Mark were delighted to meet their first Grandaughter. We were very happy to celebrate the holidays with our family.

Everyone came with arms full of presents to spoil Juliette for her Birthday and her first Christmas. Nadia and Andrej came over on Christmas Eve to make us a nice dinner and help decorate our tree along with Keneesha and Indy.

Life in my Belly

15 weeks at The Donjek River Yukon

I found out i was pregnant in Vancouver just a few days after returning from Pheonex. I thought i had air sickness but when it didn't go away days later i knew something was up. We were due to return to work in the Yukon a week later, This is where we spent the summer.

20 weeks on our Skagway/Juneau Alaska trip.

Thank goodness for Old Navy in Fairbanks. The Yukon doesn't offer much in the way of maternity clothes.

These last 2 were 33 weeks in Vancouver.

After work was done in the fall we returned down South where both of our family lives. Darren was busy setting up our new place in Merritt while I was visiting family in Vancouver. 2 weeks before the due date we rented a motel close to the hospital in Kamloops.

I was 8 days overdue and feeling it. We were out for dinner at The Keg with Darren's dad when my contractions finally started. Juliette was born the following night.

Welcome to the World

This was after a long day in labour just a few hours before our daughter was born at The Royal Inland Hospital in Kamloops. Darren was standing by for support.

Juliette Frances Joe was born on Wednesday, December 19th, 2007 at 9:51pm. She weighed 8.5lbs, was 21 inches long and came with a full head of hair. We were delighted to finally meet our little girl.

This is how she looked after her first bath, hair standing straight up. It is hard to believe she is only 1 day old in this picture. Her cheek got a bit bruised on the way out, we needed a little extra help.

Grandma Mary Jane flew up to Kamloops and came to the hospital with aunt Deana to meet her first grandchild.
